My name is Ollie Stevenson and I throw the hammer and discus for KuHAC. When I told a friend at the club about my injuries Paul was instantly recommended. I have visited Paul every month since that time for regular massage and during competition season I go every couple of weeks. Before
every session, Paul always asks how I'm feeling and if there are any specific areas to work on. He always shows interest in my sport as he feels it will help him to understand how my body's working.
At the beginning of the competition season, I suffered a serious fall and thought I would miss out on English Schools. Paul was the first person I turned to for advice and physio. With his help I made a full recovery, went to English Schools and won a silver medal.
A pre-comp massage always helps me to relax and focus, as I feel I can talk to Paul about any worries I might have. Not only does Paul look after me in the treatment room, he advises me on daily stretching to take home (always room for improvement with that one)!!
I would not hesitate to recommend Paul to anyone. Paul has become a trusted friend who I can confide in and rely on. I look forward to many successful years with him, as he continues to play a huge part of my athletic career.
Thanks Paul. :-)

I have known Paul for a number of years now and I have been coming to him regularly for maintenance and treatments. The year began well, in January I became the Northern Indoor Champion, however not long after I sustained an injury to my Ankle whilst playing Netball at the UK Nationals.
When I got home I went to see Paul and he quickly assessed a level 2 sprain which meant that I could not train for a number of weeks. I had to completely put my trust in him even though I knew I had a number of Championships in the following few weeks and there was pressure on me to be fit and compete in them.
Paul not only treated my Ankle but also reassured me, a few weeks later I was back at training and Paul monitored my progress closely and I had regular appointments. A couple of weeks later I won the Humberside Schools Championships quickly followed by a Silver Medal at the English Schools Championships. Since then I have gone on to win the Northern Outdoor Championships and recently I won another Silver medal in the Sainsbury's UK School Games.
After each success I have made sure I have contacted Paul to let him know and to thank him because without his care I would not have achieved my goals this season. He is always positive and understands that an injury to an athlete is not only physical but can often result in lack of confidence too. He has become a good friend and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Thank you Paul!
I am a middle distance runner and have being part of the Kingston Upon Hull athletics club for two years.
I have used Paul since I was first introduced to him. I first went to Paul when I had a little niggle in my leg. If I hadn’t have gone to Paul then I would still be injured and I wouldn’t have being as successful.
Paul helped me physically and mentally and I always see him regularly to prevent niggles and other injures occurring. I can always count on Paul to fit me in because sometimes I book in at very short notice, however, he always finds time to fit me in.
This year I have used Paul quite often because sometimes I have had a few niggles but every time I have seen Paul I have ran rather a Personal best (PB) or very close to one. Since I started using Paul I have knocked nine and a half seconds off my 800metre time.
Paul becomes more of a friend than a physiotherapist, he becomes interested in your progress and always asks about if your warming up and cooling down during and after races. Thanks for all your help Paul!!!
I would strongly recommend Paul to anyone who needs advice or treatment.
I first started going to Paul when I was 8 years old, while I was at hull college centre of excellence. He was who I went to always when I had niggles, injuries or just needed a good loosen off.
Even now after hull centre of excellence has stopped Paul is still who I go to. Every month or so, due to the amount of sport I do, my legs need a good massage and Paul is definitely the best man for the job. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be able to participate in the amount of sport I do.
This has been especially beneficial lately when I have attended England Women’s Football Training/Match Camps for both U15 and U17 age groups as my legs feel lose and ready to perform. From both the work he does on the little niggles and the full sports massages.
Paul is not only a great physiotherapist but a friend and I know he has played a part in the success I have had and I am privileged to have him as my physio. Thanks Paul!
I have been seeing Paul for 13 years, he has helped me with my recovery over the years and the various niggles I have had. I compete in Crossfit competitions and also play football so recovery is very important to me to ensure I stay fit during both seasons. I visit Paul on a weekly basis to keep on top of the vigorous training routine I have and without him this would not be possible. I trust Paul to give me advice and support on each visit and without him would not be able to succeed each week with my training. Paul spends the time to understand where any injuries have come from and how you can avoid these occuring again.
Over the years, I have gotten to know Paul and now class him as a friend too. He will always listen if you want to moan about anything in life. It is a very safe space to visit and I also can take my cockapoo Dotty along with me.
If you are struggling with any niggles then do get in touch with Paul and he will be able to sort you out and get you back on track.
Hiya the names Chloe and I’m a sprinter for Kingston upon Hull AC. When I first became injured I lost a lot of self confidence and Paul helped me overcome this and helped me get back on my feet physically and mentally. I was no longer an injured low self esteemed girl. I became confident in my sport and injury free. This was all because Paul got to know me as a person, he didn’t seem a physiotherapist to me, more of a friend because he was so easy to talk to, I could share my problems with him and he helped me eliminate them to produce a more confident me.
As for my injury, with Paul’s expert knowledge he knew how to deal with my injury, it rapidly got better and now it has not bothered me at all. I still go and see Paul every month to make sure my muscles and joints are all OK. I feel so much better now I have Paul as a physiotherapist because he is someone I know I can trust and he will help me with any problems I have mentally and physically.
No matter whom you are or what sport you do Paul devotes his time to you, just for you to get back doing the sport you love. From my personal experience some physiotherapists don’t build a relationship with their athletes, Paul gains your trust and becomes more of a friend than a physiotherapist, he then becomes interested in your progress and often checks up on you at different times. I really would recommend visiting Paul the next time you have a sport related injury."
I've been using Paul since I started running, I first used Paul when I picked up a little niggle. I was introduced to Paul and since then I wouldn't use anyone else.
Paul has been there for me right from when I started and has seen me through my success and doesn't treat me any different from the first day.
I don't just see Paul as just a Physiotherapist but as friend as well. He knows me as an athlete and as a person.
I can always count on Paul to fit me in because sometimes I book in at very short notice, however, he always finds time to fit me in.
I would recommend him to anybody regarding any injuries they may have.

As a FIFA and Premier League Assistant Referee I regularly call upon Paul's services to treat minor niggles and aches prior to Premier League matches and International appointments. With a busy schedule I often require treatment at short notice and Paul has always been able to accommodate me.
I have known Paul since I first started refereeing 18 years ago. He has watched me progress into the professional game and it is has only been over the last 2 years that I have had to call on his services. With the pace of the game getting faster and
demands on Assistant Referees getting greater my muscles have required some care and treatment.
I work closely with the FA and Premier League sport scientist however I have found Paul to be of greater value. The local personal touch is priceless – he has been able to demonstrate new stretches and offer first hand advice as to warm up routines for the niggles that I have encountered. He has always been able to treat the injuries I have put in front of him and to this date thanks to Paul’s help I have not had to miss a match.
I would strongly recommend Paul to anyone who is need of sound advice and treatment with a personal touch.
He gave me a thorough check over, asked me about my training, how I warmed up before races and most importantly of all, how I felt in myself. After a full stretch, massage (and a talking to!), Paul sent me home with some daily stretching exercises and said there was no reason not to exercise within my comfort zone. I resumed training with Dean the next day and never looked back - it was one of my most successful seasons yet!
As soon as I feel uncomfortable either training or competing, I go to see Paul - and always before an important event. Paul looks at the whole picture, physically and psychologically, always positive, making me feel confident to train and compete. A phrase Paul uses is "Do you train to get fit, or do you get fit to train?" I would recommend Paul to anyone, he is completely dedicated to his work and is only happy when he has sorted out the problem and you go home happy!
